Did you know?

  • Be mindful of the clock settings on your phone when you're in the middle of the Panhandle. Often, travelers will switch their clicks to manual mode so that it doesn't automatically switch between Eastern and Central time zones. Just remember to set it back to your time zone when you leave!
  • It's a good idea to always carry an umbrella and rain jacket when out and about because of the unpredictable nature of Florida's weather. It can rain quickly and unexpectedly, so make sure you're prepared.
  • Destin, Florida features some of the softest and whitest beaches, but why is that? Well, the sand particles actually originate from quartz that has traveled from the Appalachian Mountains to the Gulf of Mexico through the water of the Apalachicola River.
